COMMUNAUTE DE COMMUNES EPERNAY PAYS DE CHAMPAGNE

 

 

The Communauté de Communes Epernay Pays de Champagne (CCEPC) is a public inter-district cooperation authority setup in 2001. The CCEPC acts as a substitute for local districts in matters that come within the scope of the area as a whole.
Every day, the CCEPC works to improve the daily life of its inhabitants and organises the future of the area.
The CCEPC consists of 16 towns/villages: Avize – Brugny-Vaudancourt - Chouilly – Cramant - Cuis – Cumières – Epernay – Flavigny – Les Istres-et-Bury – Magenta – Mardeuil – Moussy - Oiry – Pierry – Plivot - Vinay.
It also represents:
• 37,514 inhabitants
• a surface area of 115 sq. km. (45 square miles)
• 2,130 hectares (5,263 acres) of vineyards and 1,183 winegrowers
• 17,677 dwellings
• 2,201 companies
• 500,000 tourists every year


Economic Development.


Epernay is the capital of the Champagne region.
The Epernay district authority, the CCEPC, covers 1,285 winegrowing operations and the head offices of champagne houses such as Moët et Chandon, Heidsieck and Co., Perrier-Jouet and Pol Roger, etc..
The Champagne-related industry (manufacturers and suppliers of winegrowing and winemaking machinery – labelling and bottling machines, etc.) represents over 120 companies and 1,700 jobs in the CCEPC’s region and a total sales figure of over 370 million euros.

On foot, by bicycle or by car, there are many ways to explore Epernay and the surrounding area (run by the Communauté de Communes Epernay Pays de Champagne) and discover the heart of champagne vineyards!
